No life sentences for immigration
The “Stop Illegal Entry Act of 2025” (H.R.3486) would put immigrants in prison on a massive scale—adding one new immigrant for every two existing prisoners—with life sentences possible for people who have committed only minor non-violent offenses. This is not expected to reduce border crossings, and would come at great taxpayer expense.
This is passed the House. It will be going to the Senate next: We must convince our Senators to vote against it.
